Description
In southern Anjou, at the heart of a 50-hectare park, this chateau stands as a unique testament to the aristocratic splendour of the 19th century. Built between 1858 and 1862 and enlarged in 1874, this Second Empire masterpiece was designed as a country mansion, combining Parisian refinement with the French art of living.
The façades, each one different, form a balanced whole, structured by the vertical and horizontal lines of the corner chains, backsplashes, bands and main cornice. The south façade comprises a central section framed by two avant-corps and extended by two wings. The north façade has a slightly protruding central section covered by a half-dome and two wings at right angles with cut-off corners. Their distinctive feature is their rich ornamentation.
The pavilion roof, with its hipped ends, half-dome, dormers and oculi, gives the chateau an imposing silhouette.
The chateau has approximately 1,400 m² of living space on three levels, with 2,200 m² of floor space on five levels, offering exceptional volumes and a harmonious layout.
