The “Remarkable Garden” label, testimony to the richness of our heritage

Introduced in 2004, the “Jardin Remarquable” label distinguishes gardens and parks of cultural, aesthetic, historical or botanical interest, whether public or private.

The “Remarkable Garden” label is awarded based on a procedure set up in each region of France. Indeed, this procedure includes a dossier produced by the owners or managers, submitted to a working group of around ten people brought together under the aegis of the DRAC.

Also, this quality label is awarded by the Ministry of Culture for a renewable 5-year period. It gives rise to various benefits, in accordance with the same process as for buildings protected as historic monuments. How to apply Owners must send their application files to the DRAC. There is no application deadline. Applications are accepted all year round. To find out more about the “Remarkable Garden” label, follow this link.
