Description
In the heart of Entre-deux-Mers, between the Dordogne and Garonne rivers, the hillsides roll like motionless waves. There, on these sun-drenched hills, lies the estate. It looks out towards the bastide town of Sauveterre-de-Guyenne, founded at the end of the 13th century by Edward I of England, one of the most beautiful bastide towns in the region. Its four fortified gates open onto a landscape of vineyards and golden stones, sunken paths and hedgerows, where you can still feel the breath of centuries past.
It is in this setting of rolling hills and clay-limestone soils that the estate’s vines are rooted. These are generous but demanding soils that require attention, patience and the right touch. Here, nothing is left to chance: each vine tells the story of the loyalty of a passed-down expertise, each plot expresses a balance between nature and human labour.
The estate covers 83ha59a14ca, including 65ha86a26ca of red and white vines, all cultivated organically. These deep soils produce wines with a strong personality: supple, straightforward, balanced, faithful to the spirit of the great wines of Entre-deux-Mers, the historic cradle of the first Bordeaux wines.
The farm, which is currently in full operation, comprises two complementary sites that form a coherent whole: modern wine-making cellars equipped with temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, a workshop, a garage and offices — a total of 1,800 m² of buildings in perfect condition. It is a production facility on a human scale, designed to be immediately operational, whether for a family takeover or a professional investment project.
It is certified HVE3 V4, ISO 9001 and 14001, Organic, Bio Chine-IFS.BRC.
The wines produced fly the flag for the terroir: AOC Bordeaux, Bordeaux Supérieur and Entre-deux-Mers, as well as a few more unconventional vintages – Rosé, Clairet, French Claret and Crémant de Bordeaux. Red grape varieties (Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Carmenère, Cabernet Franc) rub shoulders with whites (Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, Muscadelle and Colombard). Out of curiosity and a desire to experiment, small plots of Tannat, Mourvèdre, Tempranillo, Syrah, Grenache Noir, Abouriou and Gamay are also cultivated, offering great promise for local wines and unique blends.
The fixed equipment (including approximately 9,000 hl of stainless steel vats) is included in the sale. Wine stocks and mobile equipment (vines and cellars) may be negotiated separately.
This estate, rooted in a landscape of fortified towns and vineyards, embodies the spirit of Entre-deux-Mers: simplicity, solidity and authenticity. Here, the vineyard is not just a backdrop: it is the very lifeblood of the region.
